Indian Lichenological Society (ILS) is a non-government, non-profit organization established for the promotion of Lichenology in India. The society is registered at Lucknow (U.P.) under Society Registration Act 1860. The lichen research in India was initiated almost 60 years back and at present all over the country there are about 200 researchers working on various aspects of Lichenology.
